Gary
Bowling is a contemporary American impressionist,
who in his landscapes, paints the time of day, weather, season,
and the human need to shape it. The richness and fluidity of his
painting technique are awesome.
Bowling's
passion for the Midwest landscape is demonstrated with an extraordinary
spectrum of effects, from the clear brightness of a sunny afternoon,
to the modulated hues of early morning. His subjects are of farms,
rolling fields, quiet suburban moments, and the most brilliant
skyscapes. His vigorous and assured vision of what our landscape
is now in 2001 makes for a compelling view. When you stand in
front of a Bowling painting, a feeling of familiarity and awe
of the beauty of the landscape is conveyed. The most frequent
comments made by visitors to the Gallery about the paintings are,
"I know where this is, I've been there!"
Gary
Bowling's work is in many museum and corporate collections. A
list of these are available upon request.
