After studying architecture and environmental design, Vernon Gross began his training in Fine Arts and receiving his BFA degree from Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona and his MFA from Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri.

Since 1974 Vernon Gross has worked in the areas of sculpture, jewelry, and functional metalsmithing. His work has been seen in numerous regional and national exhibitions and can be found in private collections around the United States. Vernon Gross has collaborated on governmental and corporate sculptural projects in the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Russia.

The sculpture of Vernon Gross is defined by a mysterious aura. The work is elegant, graceful and serene. Made of wood, stone and metals his sculptures appeal to our need for continuity and balance and our own longings for ritual and ceremony. Vernon’s sculpture is commanding in any room or space outdoor. They draw our eyes and whisper something to us.
